What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation is to be the best version of myself and be a role model for my three daughters. I want to see them become beautiful women, and I don’t want my health to hinder that.
My inspiration is to absolutely love what I see in the mirror, to be healthy, and to be an inspiration to my kids.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by being more mindful of what I put in my mouth (portion control) and focusing more on protein and fiber.
I also tried OMAD (one meal a day), and that really helped jump-start my weight loss. I cut back on carbs, cut out sugar as much as possible, and kept an eye on my salt intake. I did 24-36 hour fasts a few times a month and drank at least 2 liters of water daily.
What is your workout routine?
I purchased a treadmill because I’m not too fond of the gym. I do 3-4 days on the treadmill for 30 minutes.
I purchased weights and kettlebells for weight training. I do lower body two days a week and upper two days a week. I also practice stomach vacuums daily. I also work out in a fasted state on most days unless I have to work out in the evening.
How often did you work out?
4-5 days per week
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 272 pounds, and my current weight is 226 pounds.
What is your height?
5’6″
When did you start your journey?
Nov 2020.
How long did your transformation take?
I was off and on after November 2020, but I have been consistent since July 2022
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I haven’t had any surgeries.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson is knowing that slow and steady is the best way to maintain my results. This is not a race. Your journey is yours, so don’t compare yourself to anyone.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
First, find what works for you, and don’t be afraid to try new things. Get used to being uncomfortable. That’s how you push yourself out of your comfort zone.
