What was your motivation?
I was motivated to end the continuous yo-yo dieting/weight loss cycle, which had occurred for YEARS.
How did you change your eating habits?
I switched to using basic tools that we all know:
- I increased my fruit and vegetable intake.
- I drank 64oz of water daily,
- I eliminated fried food.
- I ate only lean meats and protein that were either baked, grilled, or broiled.
What is your workout routine?
I actually enjoy working out, so I work out six days a week- it’s therapeutic for me. I encourage people to work out at least three days per week for weight loss.
I use various methods to discourage boredom- cardio can be running, walking, elliptical, stairclimber, stationary bike, rowing, etc. I also strength train three days a week for at least 30 mins.
What is your height?
I’m 5’8″
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 245 pounds, and my current weight is 185 pounds.
How long did your transformation take?
Due to falling on/off plan, this has taken me one year. I’m still 15 pounds from my goal weight, but my focus at this stage is more on strength training to build muscle and look leaner.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned over the years is: there are 100 weight loss plans, and ONE of them has worked for everybody. The most important focus for ANY of them is how you will maintain your goal after you succeed.
The journey is life-long, and if you don’t learn during the process how to continue to focus on proper nutrition and balanced movement for what works best for YOU, your success will never last.
