What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was to be in good health, so I could be healthy enough to carry babies one day. I also wanted to feel better in the skin that I’m in.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
It began in June 2022. I’m still a work in progress. My goal is to lose 88 more pounds. So far, it has taken six months.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
Yes, I had Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy surgery on June 20, 2022.
How did you change your eating habits?
I eat lean protein, veggies, and fruit. I also drink protein shakes and lots of water.
What is your workout routine? How often did you work out?
I work out every morning five times a week and do a minimum of an hour of exercise – 30 minutes of strength training and 30 minutes of cardio. And I also make sure I get in a minimum of 10,000 steps a day.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 372 pounds, and my current weight is 288 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’7″.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I have to be truly dedicated and mentally prepared to make a lifestyle change. I had to learn the art of consistency. I also learned that the scale does not measure my success. I celebrate non-scale victories, like being able to fit in chairs that I could not fit in before and not getting short-winded while walking up the stairs.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Start a weight loss journal. Be as real as possible as to why you want to lose weight. No matter how shallow the reasons are.
Weight loss is mental more than it is physical. So, mentally prepare yourself and surround yourself with people who will encourage you to be your best self.
