What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up? My motivation was to create a healthy lifestyle that allowed me to live! I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 21. Along with that, I dealt with insulin resistance and pre-diabetes.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey? Weight loss surgery was definitely a part of my journey. On October 15, 2021, I underwent Biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch. So far, I’m down 141 pounds with 20 more lbs to go before I hit my goal weight.
How did you change your eating habits? My eating habits have changed drastically!
- Limited carb intake and fried foods.
- No sodas and juices and plenty of water.
What is your workout routine? At this time, I only walk and use light resistance bands occasionally.
How often did you work out? I walk every day!
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight? My starting weight was 341 pounds. My current weight is 200 pounds at the time of this submission.
What is your height? I’m 5’5 1/2″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take? I started this final weight loss journey on the day of my weight loss surgery on 10/15/2021. I’m 9 1/2 months post-op at the time of this submission.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far? That I have to take care of myself if I want to be able to help and take care of others.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Pay no attention to the negative and stay focused on YOUR goal.
