Transformation of the Day: Chauntel lost 13 pounds, shedding body fat and gaining lean muscle. She is on a mission to evolve into the best version of herself, and focusing on health and fitness is part of that process. Two key things she did were adopting a plant-based lifestyle and joining a gym that offers intense, effective workouts.
My name is Chauntel, and I am a financial fitness coach. Funny enough, my physical fitness did not exemplify the success I was experiencing in my career. I have fallen in love with the fitness world and find myself encouraging other women to reach their physical fitness goals.
What was your motivation? My desire to constantly evolve into a better version of self was and is my motivation. I wasn’t happy with how I looked or felt in my clothes. I wanted more from and for myself.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up? The end Results! I focus on how I want my body to look and feel. The only time I’ve gotten the results I’ve desired in life, whether fitness, family, finances, faith, or any other area in life, I had to keep going. We all have past experiences that seemed unbearable at the time, but we conquered them by perseverance.
How did you change your eating habits? I actually changed my eating habits and diet to plant-based before I started working out consistently. I looked into the plant-based lifestyle for years, but I never committed. Finally, on March 5, 2020, I made up my mind to go plant-based.
What did your workout routine consist of? I did not want the headache of trying to figure out what work to do, so I joined a local gym that offers very intense result-yielding group classes. From cardio, weights lifting, core training to form focus… every day was target training at YF studios in Sunrise, FL. [@yfstudio___] It was intense.
These days, my fitness routine consists of abs for 45 minutes and 15 minutes of cardio on Tuesdays and Fridays. Mondays and Thursdays are set aside for my lower body – One day, I lift heavy weights, and the other is bodyweight only. Wednesdays and Saturdays are for cardio and upper body. Sundays are rest days.

How often did you work out? Like clockwork, I work out at 5 am Monday-Friday and some Saturdays (if my schedule permits).
What was your starting weight? 161 pounds with higher body and fat lower muscle mass
What is your current weight? 148 pounds with higher muscle mass and lower body fat
What is your height? I’m 5’4″.
When did you start your journey? October 3, 2020
How long did your transformation take? I saw significant results in my first three months, dropping down to 140 pounds. However, it took a whole year to sculpt and shape my body.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey? No, but I am not against it. I am a girl mom of four beautiful girls, which resulted in me having loose tummy skin. With that being said, a tummy tuck is on my radar, but it has to be my last resort. Lol, my competitive nature won’t allow me to do it until then.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far? Working out is more mental than anything. I also learned that I am a lot stronger than I ever imagined, but it starts in the mind.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
- Make sure you do it for yourself (self-love).
- Study your body type and shape. I would go as far as finding someone with a similar shape as a prototype for encouragement, nothing more (do not idealize).
- Listen to your body. Everything doesn’t work for everyone. Your body will tell you what works and what doesn’t. Listen to her.
- Be gracious and loving to yourself. Some days will be better than others.
- Go with the flow. Your goals will change as you continue in this fitness journey.
- Do Not Give UP! Any and everything that can get in your way will. Push against the resistance, and you will obtain the results you desire. That’s how muscles are built-Pushing past resistance.
