Transformation of the Day: Katrina lost 120 pounds. As a nurse, she knew that she had to change her lifestyle to preserve her health after being diagnosed with prediabetes. She focused on nutrition, used Beachbody programs, and took this journey one choice at a time.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I was diagnosed as prediabetic by my doctor. As a nurse. I knew I had to change, or my health would continue to dwindle. This is the same thing that kept me going.
How did you change your eating habits?
In the beginning, I weighed everything to track how much I was eating because I didn’t know how much I was really eating. Then I went keto for a while. Next, I went low carb. Then I started doing portion fix as part of a Beachbody program, which really helped me learn how to eat balanced.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
In the beginning, working out was hard, so I just focused on nutrition. After losing a little weight, I started going to the gym but felt out of place. That’s when I found out about again the Beachbody workouts, and I still do them to this day. Some of the programs I did were #MBF, 80-day obsession, Job 1, and Liift4.
What was your starting weight? 270 pounds
What is your current weight? 150 pounds

How long did your transformation take? 2 years!
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I didn’t have surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Be patient with yourself. Your body may be confused with what is happening, so stalls will happen. Be consistent and stay the course.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Just do it. No time will be perfect. In life, you will have hard days. You just have to do it, no matter what, because your health is at stake. Make it your new normal.
