Transformation of the Day: Candice lost 75 pounds. She made health her top priority. By adopting a modified Keto eating style, drinking lots of water, and working out, she has achieved great results. She recently celebrated her 40th birthday.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was the fact that I weighed in at 281 pounds in March 2021. I weighed 274 pounds on the day I GAVE BIRTH to my son 12 years ago. No excuses! I knew health problems weren’t too far behind if I didn’t get this in check now.
How did you change your eating habits?
I began with modified Keto eating: lean meat and hard veggies. I also drank lots and lots of water (4-5 bottles a day). After I got the lifestyle change going with my food, I began to add intermittent fasting, only eating healthy food when I was hungry.
What did your workout routine consist of? How many days a week did you work out?
I did floor exercises (crunches, free weights, planking, and resistance bands), and I counted steps (2,500/day min).
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 281 pounds. Today, February 4, 2022, is my 40th bday and I weigh 206 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’9″ flat foot.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started on March 26, 2021, and now it’s 11 months later. My last weigh-in was last night.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I didn’t have any surgery at all during this journey.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you should always drink a full glass/bottle of water before getting ready to eat. If you’re still hungry after 10-15 minutes, you are hungry! Oftentimes, the body is thirsty, and that is mistaken for hunger. So we eat instead of drinking.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice would be to set out a plan, budget, daily routine and then execute the master plan. Make changes as needed until all adjustments are made. Then, stick with what works FOR YOU!
