Today’s featured weight loss success story: Jacquelyn lost 76 pounds in 7 months by following the Weight Watchers plan and exercising hard. Here is what she shared with us:
I’ve lost 76 pounds since Jan 1st, 2013. My motivation is my mom,my son and my best friend. Weight watchers and exercising are the only things I used during my transformation. I still have 40 more pounds to go. I walk 4 miles a day and do Zumba 4 times a week. I lift weights 2 times a week.
My motivation for losing weight was my family. When I joined Weight Watchers, I loss 8 pounds in the first week and another 6 pounds the next week.My family cheered me on so that I didn’t want to stop. My eating habits were bad because I didnt have portion control. My husband made me a man sized plate and I ate until it was gone and wanted more. I often went to bed full and miserable. Weight Watchers gave me the control I needed and helped me to not only understand food but underatand how it affected my body and weight loss. My starting weight was 285 on Jan 1st, 2013 and as of July 26th, I weigh 209. I have loss 76 pounds. My workouts are continuous. At each moment of the day, I think about what I could be doing to help my journey. I excercise about two and a half hours a day and most of that time is taken up by my daily walk/run regimen. I do zumba 4 times a week and I lift weights 2 times a week for toning purposes. My transformation took 7 months I still want to loose avout 40 more pounds before I go into maintenance mode and I hope to do that by December of this year. My mom and my best friend are great supporters becauae we work out together everyday.

Hello, fellow weight watchers, I would like to first start off by congratulating my sister Jacquelyn Harris Bradley on her continued success! The journey of weight loss, in my opinion, can truly change the very being of a person and miraculously alter their perspective on life and how they interact with the world around them. Growing up as a child, in the same household, I had to painfully witness my sister battle with her weight loss in the midst of so many adverse circumstances. As an athlete, it was hard for me to empathize with her struggles, yet I wanted so much more for her that I found myself teasing her in our child hood disputes; not realizing how serious weight loss was at the time. As we grew older, I began to see the health risk associated with her access weight; swollen ankles, fear of wearing a bathing suit, no true love life, limited options in clothing, shyness, self-neglect, low self-esteem, etc. As overwhelming as this may seem, it was a reality for me and my family. After trying so many different weight loss programs and seeing no results, Jackie would became hopeless, and in some instances, helpless. Years elapsed and I found myself attending college away from home and hadn’t seen for her about 8 months; no pictures or in person. When I was planning to return home for vacation to see my family, I was warned that I may not recognize her. I secretively laughed to myself doubting her success story. Well, when I arrived home and awaited for her to enter the door, my nerves were racing and the anticipation was eating me alive. To my astonishment, when my sister walked in and appeared from around the corner, I froze and began crying in disbelief, swallowing that same laugh of doubt. I was so taken away by her new look, I didn’t know how to approach her and stared at her for what felt like hours in a minutes time. She said to me “Whats wrong?” and I paused at first, and finally responded “Oh my God, what happened to my sister, can I hug you?”……I truly felt the presence of a new person in my arms as I hugged my new sister. Her touch was almost to that of an angel. I saw features on my sister that I had never seen our entire life of 25+ years in that one moment. Her smile was brighter and it seemed as if she was wearing a body suit all the time prior to her weight loss, because she now possessed a body that spoke in volumes of beauty rather than pounds of despair. She is now happier, more active, vibrant and inspiring to others and touches everyone she meets in a special humanitarian way. My sister’s story is so compelling that it changed my perspective on the very things I am struggling with and how I view others in their time of despair. After watching my sister’s transformation, which is solely contributed to The Weight Watchers Program, I can truly say that thanks to this wonderful program she is free and because she and weight watchers did it together, so can anyone else no matter impossible or improbable it may seem. To The Weight Watcher’s Program, we, The Harris Family thank you for giving us Jacquelyn back to us. I love you Jackie and thank you for relieving those who loves you!
