Transformation of the Day: April lost 168 pounds. She was suffering from arthritis and wanted to find a way to relieve the pain. After trying various methods and plans, including Keto, she decided to have Gastric Sleeve surgery. While on her transformation journey, she created a FB group that inspired and supported her.
I started my journey over eight years ago. I tried everything; low-carb, Keto, fasting, etc. You name it, and I tried it. In 2014, I lost 150 pounds but gained it all back in 2 years.
I’ve been working so hard to lose weight. I was blessed not to have high blood pressure and diabetes, but I did suffer from arthritis. I lived in such pain, and it seemed like no one understood what I was going thru 😢.
What is your motivation? I found my motivation in helping other people to take back their lives. I opened a Facebook group called Murdering Obesity, and I love it. That group became my passion and motivated me even when I didn’t feel like working out. If I felt down about my weight, someone would come along that needed me.
How did you lose the weight? I started doing Keto, and I lost 100 pounds with those new eating habits. However, I still couldn’t get out of the 400’s. It’s like the weight had a hold on my life. No matter if I fasted for five days or worked out for seven days in a row, I still couldn’t get out of the 400’s.
I started my journey at 513 pounds or maybe even higher. My lowest with Keto and my trainer Lou of Pound Killers was 405 pounds. So I decided to do something different.
I needed God more than ever, and he opened some major doors for me. My Murdering Obesity family raised money and sent me to Mexico to have a Gastric Sleeve weight loss surgery.
I had my surgery on July 12, 2021. This decision has been the best thing I’ve done for myself in years. I no longer have pain in my back, and my knees don’t hurt anymore.
I currently weigh 345 pounds. During all the time I spent fighting for better health, I learned to trust the process. Turning into a butterfly 🦋 takes time, and we have to trust God with everything in us, even if we don’t understand.

This is such an encouraging post because, our story seem similar in so many ways. This helps me know I am not alone and if you lost 100+ on your own before surgery, that it is achievable. I am also happy you did what worked best for you. Kudos, on your new journey and thanks for inspiring others. Blessings to you
