Transformation of the Day: Latonya lost 59 pounds with healthy eating habits and exercise. She worked hard to change her lifestyle while dealing with several challenges, including depression, anxiety, back pain, and high blood pressure.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My husband, kids, and being sick and tired of being sick and tired motivated me to lose weight. I also got tired of dealing with high blood pressure, headaches, and back pain. Seeing the other women’s journeys in the BWLW group inspires me.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my diet by cutting out sweets, soda, fried foods, and fast food. I also increased my water intake and focused on eating more fruits, vegetables, and baked food.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I work out Monday-Saturday. My workout routine consists of boxing, Zumba, Taebo, YouTube exercise videos, and weight lifting.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 249 pounds, and my current weight is 190 pounds.
What is your height?
My height is 5’7″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started back in 2014, but I fell off due to depression/anxiety, emotional eating, and stress. I finally became consistent in 2020.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I didn’t have weight loss surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you really have to be consistent with your eating habits and your exercise routine.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice to other women is to take one day at a time because small changes make a huge difference over time.
