Transformation of the Day: Stanice lost 76 pounds. She shared with us how she got results by tracking her eating habits and working out six days a week. She also learned how to be consistent because motivation can come and go.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was going through a divorce. I felt like I needed to gain control of something. Once I started seeing results, I didn’t want to stop.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits over time. First, I reduced calories. Next, I paid close attention to how much protein, fat, and carbs I consumed to make sure I had a balanced meal.
I tracked all my food through MyFitnessPal. This was the only way to truly keep track of what I consumed. It also helped me easily modify my diet if something wasn’t working. I also journaled how my body responded to certain things to ensure effectiveness.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
Working out consists of cardio and strength training. I work out six times a week for an hour each. I initially started virtually training with Darrell Patterson out of Atlanta.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 259 pounds, and my current weight is 183 pounds.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey over a year ago, and I’m still going.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I did not have any weight loss surgery, but it did take over a year.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson is not to depend on motivation. Instead, focus on consistency because you will not always feel motivated.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice to other women is to start small. I focused on 10-15 pounds at a time. When I began this journey, losing over 70 pounds was not part of my plan.
