What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was to get healthy and lose weight. My inspiration comes from looking at my before and after photos seeing that I did, and I can continue to do it.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by fasting from 6 pm to 9 am [intermittent fasting], and I stopped binge eating. I also cut out a lot of sweets, pop, and potato chips. I drank more water, and I used fruit to flavor it.
I didn’t want a diet. Instead, I wanted a life change, so now I eat more veggies, fruit, whole wheat bread, lean meat, and fish. I snack on IND thins, popcorn and nuts mainly.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
During the pandemic, I purchased a treadmill, stationary bike, and weights for my basement. I work out using a lot of YouTube exercise videos. I also love to walk outdoors.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 230 pounds, and I now weigh 197 pounds. My goal weight is 180 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’5″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in January 2020. I began to notice a change six months in.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is consistency is key. When I fall, I get right back up.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Do not compare yourself to anyone else. Figure out what works for YOU, and don’t allow the scale to discourage you.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I didn’t have weight loss surgery.
