Transformation of the Day: Carla lost 26 pounds. Her wake-up call came last year when she had heart palpitations due to stress and caffeine and landed in the ER. Determined to be a healthy mom for her kids, she changed her eating habits and set a goal for 8-10K steps per day.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was staying alive! I had a very bad case of heart palpitations last year from stress and caffeine, which landed me in the ER by ambulance. When I wanted to give up, I thought about staying alive for my kids.
How did you change your eating habits? What are some of the healthy foods you eat on a regular basis?
I drink half my body weight in ounces of water daily. I also use portion control and eat clean. The healthy foods that I eat regularly are lots of fresh vegetables, fruit, whole grains, seafood, and fruit/veggies smoothies.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I exercise 3-4 times a week, walking for 30 minutes.
Is walking the primary form of exercise you did?
Yes, walking is my thing! I shoot for 8-10K steps per day.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 214 pounds, and my current weight is 188 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’5″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started this journey a long time ago but would fall off. This time, I stuck with it. I restarted my journey in a serious and focused way in October 2020.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I didn’t have surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far is that “Inch by inch, ANYTHING is a cinch!” CONSISTENCY is key.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Stay focused, Ladies. Start by pin pointing your WHY. Keep your WHY in front of you on paper and signs in your bathroom, car, office – wherever you’ll see it often. Also, don’t let ANYONE discourage you!
Summer bodies are made whenever YOU decide! Small disciplines repeated DAILY is what makes “anything” happen! Keep swinging, y’all!
