Chavon lost 33 pounds. She was ready to love what she saw in the mirror and was tired of feeling physically and mentally drained. One of the key lessons she learned was that focusing on exercise alone would not deliver the results she was looking for. The game changed once she changed her eating habits and overall lifestyle.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation came from simply being tired of seeing what I saw in the mirror, both mentally and physically. Even when I was physically tired and sometimes mentally overwhelmed, I knew I needed to keep going to get the results I wanted.
How did you change your eating habits?
I didn’t use a specific diet or program to aid in my weight loss. Instead, I slowly started cutting out things I loved and replacing them with things I liked. For example, I enjoyed eating chocolate and snacking on chips, so I would skip eating meals to snack on chips and chocolate. Now, I’m snacking on bananas, apples, celery w/peanut butter, a small serving size of almonds, cucumbers snacks, etc.
What did your workout routine consist of?
My workout routine consisted of weights/resistance training and cardio. I follow so many great fitness influencers on Instagram, and they inspired me to create two workout plans that I’m currently using with a friend who has lost 40 pounds so far.
How often did you work out?
I work out five days a week. Sometimes, if I’m up to it, I’ll add another day strictly for cardio and abs.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 201 pounds! Yikes! My current weight fluctuates between 168-173 pounds. (Today, I weigh 170 lbs).
What is your height?
5’7″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in January 2020, but I didn’t start losing weight until June 2020. I had this silly idea that I could still work out and eat the same. I would just go harder on the days I really messed up food-wise. However, all I was doing was working out to remain that size. I didn’t change my mindset about how I was eating until June.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No surgery, diet pills, or slimming tea. I got these results the traditional way, straight out the mud.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far is to change your mindset on how you eat and live. I couldn’t keep eating like I was and expect the weight to come off.
I’ve learned to appreciate and trust the process. I stopped beating myself up and comparing my journey to others. I started celebrating and appreciating every step on this journey to a better, healthier me (both mentally and physically). Today, I am enjoying and acknowledging my progress. Today, I’m patting myself on the mf back!
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Change your mindset about how you’re eating/living and watch how your body follows. I can tell you about a thousand workout routines, but you have to change what you’re consuming/eating to get to your goals.
Also, whatever you do, please keep going, Sis! I know it’s hard, both physically and mentally, but it’s so rewarding. Health is wealth. Let’s get rich together, Queens!

Thankyou for this and the before and after pics. I’m on a similar journey. I may have to get rid of those bad influential friends around me who eat whatever they want.
But I’m up for this challenge!!!
