Transformation of the Day: Sharita lost 30 pounds and several dress sizes. After trying all kinds of weight loss plans, she was introduced to the Keto lifestyle by her coach, and it has been a game-changer. At 44 years old, she is committed to fitness and living a healthy lifestyle.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going even when you wanted to give up?
I am 44 years old. I have tried almost every diet under the sun! Keto lifestyle worked for me. I remember cooking my Thanksgiving meal in 2020, and I had to sit down every few minutes because my lower back and knees were hurting. I knew then I had to make a decision: either surgery or lose weight.
PRAYER was my secret weapon! Also, what inspired me was my before pictures. I took plenty of photos during my journey. I would look at them to remind myself how I never wanted to feel or look like that again.
How did you change your eating habits?
I met my Keto Coach, Steph Adams, in December 2020 on Facebook (through a mutual friend). Steph introduced me to Keto. I eliminated junk food, potatoes, bread, and pasta. I also prayed ALL the time because I love sweets! I learned how to make a lot of my favorite meals in a Keto-friendly way.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I didn’t start working out until March 2021. I walked about 25 miles a week. Then I started taking an online HIIT class called Mindset Fitness Training in June 2021 (4 days a week).
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
When I started my journey, I weighed 185 pounds. I currently weigh 155 pounds. I went from a size 14 to a size 6.
What is your height?
I am 5’1″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey on January 1, 2021. It took me five months to lose the weight. I’m still a work in progress.
Is weight loss surgery a part of your journey?
No, it wasn’t, but I definitely considered it!
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The best lesson I’ve learned so far is CONSISTENCY. No matter how many times I fell, I would immediately pick myself back up. Before I started with my coach, if I cheated, I would convince myself to start over on “Monday.” But, of course, Monday never came. Now, if I have something that’s not Keto, I get back on track with my next meal!
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
My advice is to surround yourself with like-minded people. Join a group that will motivate you when you’re running low on gas. Encouragement and support are necessary when losing weight. I joined a FB group called Keto Coaching with Steph. Get you a Steph, PLEASE!! The group literally saved my life.
And remember, losing weight is a process, TRUST THE PROCESS!
