Transformation of the Day: Mimi lost 65 pounds. Being in college, dealing with stress, and going out more led to binge eating and low self-esteem. In Summer 2019, she adopted a low-carb lifestyle and began working out 3-5 days a week.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I’ve been struggling for years to lose weight, and with college and going out more, I’ve found myself binge eating more than usual which caused me to have extremely low self-esteem.
As of the Summer of 2019, I made a commitment to myself to focus on my health by investing in creating a healthy lifestyle. I adopted a low-carb diet and exercised 3-5 days a week. I’m proud to announce that I’m 65+ pounds lighter and still committed to maintaining this new shape.
How did you change your eating habits?
I was binge eating most of the time and didn’t realize that this was due to stress. I cut down on carbs for a bit and decided to start eating lean by incorporating small meals that are rich in protein and veggies into my routine.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I currently weigh 155 pounds. My starting weight was 220 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’5″
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’ve definitely learned to love myself and make my health a top priority. I also learned to enjoy the bits of life, like traveling and shopping.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I haven’t had any surgery.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
For any woman struggling with weight loss, I would encourage you to stick to a goal and be persistent. Also, sometimes you will need to cut down on social events to focus on the body you desire to be.
