Transformation of the Day: Ashley lost 75 pounds with healthy eating habits and exercise. She simply wanted to be comfortable in her skin and wear the clothes she likes. Maintaining proper nutrition has been the biggest challenge she faced during her two year journey, but she put in the work and figured it out.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was being comfortable in my skin and being to wear what I want.
What has inspired me to keep going after two years and a pandemic are my supporters because I know that I was also trying to figure it out at one time. I didn’t know what to do or where to start. I had to jump in and go.
How did you change your eating habits?
I completely changed my eating habits. I even tried a few diets that aided in my weight loss. Now that I’m at my goal size and weight, it’s more about learning to eat so that my body gets the proper nutrition but also to maintain my gains and ideal look. I follow a high protein, low carb diet with one day of fasting on the weekend.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
My routine consists of 3 days of weight training and 1 to 2 days of cardio.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 230 pounds. My current weight is 155 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’5″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in January 2019. I have currently been working on my transformation for two years, since Feb 12, 2021.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, weight loss surgery wasn’t a part of my journey.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is proper nutrition is key. You don’t want to be on a diet for months, and then once you lose the weight, you don’t know how to eat to maintain. Nutrition has been the biggest obstacle for me thus far and is still a challenge. Everybody’s body is different, so learning you and what your body loves is key.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Use others as motivation but never compare yourself to anyone else. Everyone has a different look and aesthetic.
Set small goals at first, and they will add up to a big one. If you mess up one day, don’t give up. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it in the long run.
