Transformation of the Day: Alyssa lost 50 pounds. She wanted to avoid a family history of high cholesterol and blood pressure and be the healthiest version of herself. By making healthy food choices and doing full-body and calisthenic workouts, she has transformed.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I had a desire to be the best version of myself. This included emotionally, mentally, and of course, physically. I was unhappy with the person I saw in the mirror. She was hurt, abused, and felt unloved. I began to dedicate 30 minutes daily to my physical health, and I became very results-driven.
Also, high cholesterol and blood pressure run in my family, and I wanted to ensure I lived the most fulfilling life that I could. Even on the harder days, I reminded myself that I wanted to be where I was that day, so I kept going in hopes to see what I would become of my hard work. Eventually, I was rewarded with other people noticing my weight loss journey. Now that a crowd was watching, I knew I could not stop. Today, I’m a personal trainer and have assisted others on their natural weight loss journey.
How did you change your eating habits?
I retrained my mind to eat when I was hungry and not out of boredom or a habit. I started to “Eat to live and not live to eat.” That is a saying that I did not understand until I developed self-control/discipline.
I learned that I had been overeating the majority of my life. I researched the processing of foods and nutrients in the body. Then, I reduced my sugar and carb intake and increased my vegetable intake significantly. I also included intermittent fasting into my daily routine. I am currently Vegan as of October 2020.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I work out daily and do lots of cardio. No days off. It was always a full-body workout. I am also into calisthenic workouts and bar workouts. Fitness has become something I enjoy and find pleasure in.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I peeked at around 187 pounds, and my current weight is 137.
What is your height?
5’3″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in March 2020 and obtained the weight of 135 pounds by December 2020 – Approximately 50 pounds in 9 months. I am still on my journey as it is a lifestyle for me now. I have a fitness business, and I want to help others that desire a successful transformation.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I had an all natural weight loss journey.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that discipline is a choice and one that can significantly change any one’s life. I also learned that you never know who you will inspire.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
My advice is to find your reason and to keep that at the forefront of your mind. Be consistent.

Everyone has read these success stories and are thankful that the individual shared but this story is so very special to me and hits differently because I know Allyssa, I have shared meals with her. In other words she has made me believe that it only take one true story to motivate you. Love you Ally
