Nina lost 61 pounds by becoming a pescatarian and working out 5-6 days a week. She wanted to feel better, inside and out. She’s a Life Coach, so she knew how to motivate and encourage herself, but her husband was very supportive of her lifestyle change.
Age: 33
Starting weight: 245 pounds
Current weight: 184 pounds
What was your motivation?
To feel better inside and out. I’ve always been the overweight kid or the overweight adult. I wanted to be called slim for once, lol.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My husband is a huge supporter when it comes to my weight loss goals. He is very fit himself, and he’s a personal trainer, so this is right up his alley. I’m a Certified Life Coach, so it’s relatively easy for me to motivate and encourage myself to keep going as it’s naturally instilled in me.
How did you change your eating habits?
I became a pescatarian about two years ago. All I really eat is seafood and plant-based meats (vegan). I love vegetables and include them with every meal at dinner.
My breakfast is usually a shake. I prefer 310 Shake mix. I also like zero carb bread with butter or jelly for breakfast if I’m not having a shake. I usually have a shake or a very light meal for lunch, such as salmon and cauliflower rice.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I worked out at least 5 to 6 days a week. I would do 2 miles or more of cardio on the treadmill. Sometimes, I did weight training, squats, etc., but often it was just cardio.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 245 pounds, and my current weight is 184 pounds.
What is your height?
5’10”
When did you start your journey?
May 2020
How long did your transformation take?
Seven months
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No weight loss surgery at all.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Change your mind, and your habits will follow. Getting healthy is a mindset. If you put your mind to it and commit in your heart that you will lose weight, nothing can stop you. If there are foods that you know you have a weakness for, don’t buy them and bring them home. Even if you tell yourself that you will only have one serving, that is not usually the case. Just leave it at the store, lol.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
DO NOT GIVE UP! You are already a beautiful human. Don’t let anyone tell you anything different. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, just as our Father says. Now it’s time to become a healthy human so that everything will match up.
