Ebony lost 29 pounds with healthy eating habits and exercise. She experienced weight gain after losing her job due to the pandemic. By joining an online transformation challenge, she found the support and information she needed to get results.
I’m 31 years of age, married, and I have a 14-year-old daughter. I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes, and I got out of the red zone by working out. I’ve lost weight doing the Heat Challenge program.
This journey has been challenging because I lost my job due to the pandemic. That’s where the weight gain started. Overall, I’m thankful that GOD has given me a new outlook on life. I’m able to become a new me. This program has truly helped me build my confidence back up.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My inspiration is my family. If I gave up on eating healthy, they would have followed in my footsteps because I’m the person who cooks. Now, we drink more water and eat more veggies in our meals.
How did you change your eating habits? What did your workout routine consist of?
Yes, I am proud to say the Heat Challenge changed my life. Each round is six weeks at a time. It’s a program where you can work out on your own time and still feel like you got an entire fitness family behind you because they have real coaches and a motivation group.
They give you specific meal plans and daily exercise routines to follow. I no longer eat pork or red meat. I worked out five days a week, depending on my schedule. I did cardio and strength training.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I was 194 pounds, and now I weigh 165 pounds. I actually lost my back fat and side rolls in the first six weeks I joined.
What is your height?
5’7″
When did you start your journey?
July 27, 2020
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No surgery. Everything is natural.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that losing weight isn’t easy, but it can be done with hard work and dedication.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
If you want to lose weight, know that it’s YOU vs. YOU. Don’t compare your journey with anyone else because everyone is different. First, it has to start with your mindset, then your body will follow. Losing weight is never easy. With GOD and the right support around you, you can accomplish anything. I’m here to motivate you if you need it. Let’s all get fit and fine for 2021. Health is Wealth.
