Transformation of the Day: Tiffany lost 74 pounds with healthy food and exercise. Her motivation came from not feeling comfortable in her own body. After she was diagnosed with diabetes, she began to make major changes to the way she eats.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was not feeling comfortable in my own body.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I want to be healthier and feel on the outside like I do on the inside.
How did you change your eating habits?
I was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago. That diagnosis forced me to stop eating carbs and really pay attention to the types of food I’m putting into my body.
What foods did you stop or start eating?
I cut back on eating a lot of starches, potatoes, pasta, bread, some fruits, and sweets. I still do eat some of these foods but only in moderation. I still need to eat the right amount of carbs to keep my sugar levels balanced.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I committed to a schedule of working out for two days, breaking for one day, and then repeating this cycle. This helped keep me be consistent, and it guaranteed that I would get 4-5 days a week of exercise.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 355 pounds. My current weight is 281 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’9″.
When did you start your journey?
September 2019
How long did your transformation take?
Over a year, but I’m not finished!
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned to keep trying and that it takes time to lose weight.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Keep trying! You will have setbacks when you’re not eating right or not working out, but you can start over. It’s ok.
