Transformation of the Day: Chelsea lost 70 pounds. After many years of poor eating habits, her doctor told her that she was pre-diabetic, and if she didn’t lose weight, she would develop diabetes. On that day, she began her transformation journey. Meal prep and two-a-day workouts are part of her routine.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My health. My health truly motivated me. I knew something had to change when I stepped on the scale, and my weight was close to 240 pounds (I’m 5’5″). I had no idea I weighed that much.
Many years of poor eating habits led me here. My doctor informed me that I was pre-diabetic, and if I didn’t lose weight, I would develop diabetes. From that day on, I dedicated my life to becoming a healthier me.
How did you change your eating habits?
I prepared my meals at home and restrained myself from eating out. Eventually, I cut out dairy, grains, beef, and pork.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I started by doing Zumba 4-5 times a week. The weight started to fall off when I began weight training in combination with cardio. Now I lift heavy, and I’m working on becoming stronger. I work out twice a day, five days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 240 pounds, and my current weight is 170 pounds.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
July 2014 – Present
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far is to remain consistent, set small, short term goals, plan out my meals, and work out ahead of time.
