What is your current weight?
My current weight is 137 pounds – down 27 pounds. My goal is 30 pounds (134 pounds)
How have you maintained your weight loss/continued to lose weight?
I have maintained my weight loss by working out five days a week. I also drink at least three liters of water daily. I cut back on red meat and started to incorporate a lot more greens into my diet.
Of the lessons you’ve learned on your journey, which one stands out the most at this point?
The lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t compare your journey to anyone else’s. Don’t focus on the scale. Do the work, and the results will come.
Would you like to offer any new or different advice to women who want to lose weight?
The new advice I would give:
- Be patient.
- Consistency is key.
- If you can’t do anything else, WALK!! Get your body moving!!
Tasha lost 23 pounds. She is a mom of four and a cervical cancer survivor. This year, she decided that she desperately needed to make a change. With support from her children, her husband, and her trainer, she made time for fitness, healthy eating habits, and self-care.
I am a 33-year-old mom of four. In 2016, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Two weeks after that, I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. After having my daughter in January 2017, I had a hysterectomy in May 2017. My body changed in a way that I would never have imagined, and I gained 40 pounds. I wasn’t happy and desperately needed a change.
What was your motivation?
My children, my husband, and my trainer motivated me.
How did you change your eating habits?
I shifted my eating habits away from drinking pop every day, eating snacks for breakfast, and eating a lot of carbs.
I started drinking 3 liters of water every day. I also limited my snacking to once a week, added more protein to my diet, and cut back on my carb intake.
What did your workout routine consist of?
After the pandemic hit, I decided enough was enough. I hired a personal trainer. I worked out five days a week for 1 hour. On two of those days, I worked out with my trainer.
Eventually, I started to do a lot more weight training and began lifting heavy. Eventually, I cut down on my cardio to 20 minutes per session.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 164 pounds, and my current weight is 141 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’2″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my weight loss journey on June 1, 2020. I changed my body composition in 60 days.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
Surgery is not a part of my journey.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is you have to make time for yourself! I’m a mother of 4 and a wife. I work the 3rd shift, and sometimes it’s hard to find time for yourself. If you can squeeze out 1 hour a day for self-care, you will be so happy you did!
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Take your time and learn YOUR body. Things that work for the next woman may not work for you. Find what works for you and WORK IT!
