Transformation of the Day: Belaney lost 93 pounds. As a wife and mom to three girls, her goal is to be a healthy example for her family. Cutting out processed food, cutting carbs, and staying active on a daily basis is working for her.
What was your motivation?
I’m a 32-year-old wife and mom of three girls, so I would have to say my primary motivation was to be active with my family, lead a healthy life, and be an example for my kids. Another motivation was ME. I owed myself something. I had to overcome and not let the things I was facing win.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started changing my eating habits with portion control and by going low carb. I ate more whole foods and less processed food. That meant saying no to the sweet teas and hello to broccoli.
How many days a week do you work out?
I work out six days a week, sometimes 7. I try to be active every day.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 279 pounds. Currently, I weigh 186 pounds. I have 21 more pounds to go until I reach goal weight. I’m seven pounds away from achieving 100 pounds gone.
What is your height?
5 ft, 6 inches tall
When did you start your journey?
I’ve been working at it since January 2019.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I have had no surgeries (or taken pills), but much love to those who have had to make that life-changing decision.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Throughout this journey, I’ve learned that I can do anything. I’ve been unhealthy and morbidly obese my whole life, and now I’m winning.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice to women who haven’t started but want: Just do it. Start today, then do a little more tomorrow and the next day. Now, you’ve formed a habit.
