Update: Keisha lost 12 more pounds for a total of 98 pounds gone.
“I lost 12 more pounds! Continuing to stay on track with my nutrition and staying active every single day even if it’s just taking a hike or walking around the neighborhood for an hour helped with this! I’ve adopted HIIT [high-intensity interval training] classes at the gym and I’m doing more strength training as well.”
Transformation of the Day: Keisha lost 86 pounds. She is on a mission to be a healthy example for her son. For the last year, she has transformed her lifestyle by changing her eating habits, meal prepping, drinking lots of water, and making fitness a priority.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was mostly wanting to be healthy for my son. Also, I not only wanted to look better but wanted to feel better too! When I wanted to give up, I just thought about my son and the example I want to set for him. Do I want him to think it’s ok to be a quitter, or do I want him to never give up?!
How did you change your eating habits?
I started meal prepping and stopped eating so many snacks and treats all the time. I began to eat more veggies and fruits and stopped drinking soda. Instead, I started drinking water only!
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
My workout routine consists of weight lifting and cardio. I work out 3-5 days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 270 pounds, and my current weight is 184 pounds.
What is your height?
5’5″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in October 2019. It has taken me eight months to lose 86 pounds. I’m currently trying to lose the last 14 pounds.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to have patience.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
The best advice I can give is to be patient! With patience, consistency, and willpower, anything is possible.
