Wynaia lost 50+ pounds by changing her lifestyle. She started her journey five years ago. At the time, she couldn’t walk from her job’s front door to her work area without knee pain. She took action by cutting carbs and working out regularly.
When did you start your journey?
My journey began in 2015. I lost the weight by changing my diet and working out.
What was your motivation?
I decided that I had to make a change after I weighed myself and saw 264 pounds on the scale. It was the heaviest I’ve ever been. I couldn’t walk from my job’s front door to my work area without my knees hurting. This journey was not easy, and I still struggle daily.
How long did your transformation take? What is your current weight?
It took 1 1/2 years. I reached my lowest weight of 183 pounds in November 2017. However, due to LIFE, I’ve gained 25-30 pounds. My current weight is 213 pounds. I’m having a Mommy Makeover (Tummy Tuck and Breast Lift) in the very near future.
How did you change your eating habits? What did your workout routine consist of?
I lost the first 30 pounds by cutting out soda. After I hit a plateau, I changed my eating habits to low carb. I ate less than 50 carbs a day, but I didn’t follow a specific diet.
When I began my journey seriously in 2015, I would walk on the treadmill for at least 30 minutes a day. After four weeks, I started doing full-body workouts and using the elliptical for cardio. During that time, there wasn’t anything I wouldn’t try. After doing research, I started incorporating HIIT routines into my daily workout. Now, I work out 5/6 days a week, sometimes seven.
I have decided to become a personal trainer and wellness coach because I know how hard it is. I want to help and motivate other people to live a healthier lifestyle.
What is your height?
I’m 5’4″.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that this journey never ends.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
The advice that I would give is that it’s not easy, but it’s worth it. When you feel like giving up, keep going. Also, you will not see results without changing your eating habits. There ain’t no way around it!
