Marlon: highest weight: 473 pounds ⬇️ 150lbs and counting!
Camille: highest weight: 205 pounds ⬇️ 40lbs and counting!
Camille lost 37 pounds, and her husband Marlon lost 150 pounds. They are working together to change their overall lifestyle and supporting each other every step of the way. By eating a balanced diet and working out consistently, they are getting fantastic results.
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey of consistency on April 1, 2020, and haven’t looked back since. No dieting, just balancing and working out four days a week. 20 lbs until I reach my goal weight.
What was your motivation?
After graduating from college, my lifestyle completely changed. I went from walking all over campus daily, walking the malls every weekend with my girls, and climbing Stone Mountain on the weekend for fun, to working a 9-5 desk job, grad school, and adulting. The pounds came on quickly!
With weight gain came a loss of confidence, and then I just got “stuck.” I sat around at 200lbs for the last four years. When Covid-19 hit, my husband and I decided it was time to get serious about our weight loss goals. With working from home and the world stopping, there were no more excuses. For the first time ever, we have been successfully killing it on our journey! Our lifestyle has completely changed for the better, and I’m so excited about the future now.
My husband and I doing this together has definitely been the source of our individual success. Having each other to push along the way and to experience this journey together has been amazing. We both feel so blessed.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by changing my mindset. I knew that if I started this journey with the diet mindset, I wouldn’t be able to maintain it (like so many times before). Instead, I went for a balanced approach. I didn’t stop eating the foods I wanted. I just ate them in moderation. I also started incorporating various meal types, such as vegetarian, pescatarian, paleo, keto, etc. I did this because I had tried each of these diets on their own and couldn’t stick to their strict rules. When you eat a little from each, it creates a healthy balanced diet overall.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I work out four days a week. One day is usually a strength training leg day. I run 2-3 miles on the other three days.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 205 pounds, and my current weight is 168 pounds. My goal weight is 150 pounds.
Marlon is currently down 150 pounds so far. His starting weight was 470 pounds, and his current weight is 320 pounds. His goal weight is 270 pounds.
He lost the first 70 pounds over the last year by making small changes, like drinking more water and cutting back juice and soda. He kept his eating habits balanced and consistently worked out four days a week.
What is your height?
5’4″
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson on my journey: Go at your own pace and don’t rush it. If you’re genuinely seeking a lifestyle change, you need to give every part of yourself the time it deserves. Both mentally and physically, I have become stronger by taking it one day at a time and not racing against the calendar. I want to be healthy for the rest of my life, not just until I hit my goal weight.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
I would share the advice of loving yourself no matter where you are on your journey. We women can be really hard on ourselves at times. It’s essential to find that balance between being disciplined and giving yourself a break when you need it.
