Transformation of the Day: Remi lost 66 pounds. In 2019, after years of struggling with her weight, she decided to change her mindset and her lifestyle. She wrote to us from England 🇬🇧 and let us know how she used her faith, fitness, and healthy eating habits to shed the pounds.
When did you start your journey?
I started my weight loss journey at the end of February 2019, weighing in at a whopping 250 pounds.
I have been struggling with my weight for most of my adult life. Last year was more or less my last chance to prove to myself that losing weight is possible for me. I changed my eating habits and started working out 3 to 4 times a week. Here I am, a year and a couple of months later. Now, I am proud to say that I currently weigh in at 184 pounds. I lost a total of 66 pounds.
What was your motivation?
I would say my motivation is my two children as I want to be an excellent example for them. Additionally, when I started seeing results and some changes in my health and physical appearance, that was motivating. Also, I believed in myself. I can achieve whatever I set my mind on. Ss the bible says, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. That gave me more inspiration and strength to keep pushing.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by counting calories and practicing intermittent fasting. I started eating more vegetables, fruit, and protein. I replaced rice with couscous, bulgur wheat, and wheat pasta. I also started drinking a lot of water.
What is your workout routine?
My workout routine is mainly cardio and weight training 3 to 4 times a week.
What is your height?
I am 5’7″ tall.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson: Put God first in everything I do. Also, this journey is not a race nor a diet. It is a lifetime thing.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice to all women is to first believe in themselves and know that they can achieve whatever they set their minds to because this mindset will help them through the journey. Similarly, they should never give up when there are setbacks. Setbacks will happen, and we are all humans. Keep pushing, Ladies. I am rooting for you all
