Transformation of the Day: Victoria lost 110 pounds by cutting calories and walking every day. After giving birth to twins, the numbers on her scale passed 300 lbs. A warning from her doctor gave her the wakeup call she needed.
What was your motivation?
Most of my life, I have been overweight. It wasn’t until I gave birth to my twins that I got over 300 pounds. Sticking to a diet and remaining consistent was hard, and I always made excuses. I didn’t find my motivation until I went to my primary care physician, and he flat out told me, “If you keep up these bad habits, you won’t live to see your children get married and have their own kids.” From that day forward, I cut calories and began walking on my old high school track every day. By making those changes, I was able to lose 100 pounds and counting.
Every day is still a hurdle. Weight loss and maintaining your health is all about your mindset. Once you are able to control that, you are capable of anything.
How did you change your eating habits?
I cut my calories to 1500 a day and ate low carb foods.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 360 pounds, and I currently weigh 250 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’11”.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey three years after having my twins. My transformation took about a year.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I learned is not to rush it. I also learned not to compare someone else’s journey to my own.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
The best advice I can give is to work hard, remain consistent, and don’t be too hard on yourself if you are not always motivated.
