Transformation of the Day: Rosmira lost 60+ pounds. This mom is determined to be healthy and live a long life. Jogging and intermittent fasting are part of her routine. She learned that change might not happen overnight, but with hard work, you will make progress.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was my kids and family. I want to be around for them for a very LONG time.
How did you change your eating habits?
I gave up junk food and upped my water intake. I .really didn’t give up many foods. I just ate what I was already eating in much lower quantities. I also do intermittent fasting.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you workout?
When I started this journey, I walked for 1 hour, six days a week. After about two months, I started slow jogging 6 miles, six days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 260 pounds, and my current weight is 188/195 pounds.
What is your height?
My height is 5’3″.
How long did your transformation take?
My weight loss took about a year and a half, but I’m still not done.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No. My weight loss is natural.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned in this journey is that it’s not easy, but it’s also not impossible. You have the right to have bad days and even weeks, but you shouldn’t give up. I’ve also learned not to mind the scale as much. I even stopped weighing myself as often because I know the scale can be very unmotivating.
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
Trust how you feel. Trust how your clothes fit, and above all else, trust yourself. If you are working hard, you will get the results. Don’t expect the changes to happen overnight. I didn’t see a lot of difference in how my clothes fit or how I looked until I lost more than 50 pounds. Also, everyone is different, so don’t compare yourself to others.
