Transformation of the Day: Jazman lost 116 pounds by embracing an alkaline, plant-based lifestyle. For her, this journey has been about health and self-love, not just weight. Check out her story.
I’ve lost over 100+ pounds by transitioning to plant-based. Eating plant-based and high alkaline foods have completed changed everything for me. (Also, taking herbs such as sea moss, etc.) I hope I can inspire everyone to be healthy. It’s not just about how we look physically. It’s about frequency.
What was your motivation?
It was a mental and spiritual decision for me. I am a person who, when I know better, I have to do better. It became difficult for me to know that my body deserved SO much better, but continue to consume trash.
How did you change your eating habits?
I went Vegan and then transitioned into predominantly plant-based eating a few months into it. Going plant-based gets 100% of the credit for my weight loss. I eat things like curry and lots of sautéed veggie mixes over quinoa.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I began going to the gym to combat saggy skin. When you lose such a significant amount of weight, saggy skin is to be expected. I go to the gym to do weight training, so I am not so droopy. Cardio is my enemy, lol. However, I know that cardio strengthens my heart, so I do 30 mins of that also.
How often do you workout?
It really varies. Sometimes I will go 6-7 days a week for like two months straight. Then I may only go twice a week for a month. Working out is something I am still trying to get a grip on.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
Initially, I did not weigh myself because, as I mentioned, I was on a health journey. The highest I remember weighing in at was 369 pounds. I did not start changing until months later, so I’m sure I weighed much more. I am currently at 253 pounds.
What is your height?
5’9″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I went vegan again on January 1, 2019. I started going to the gym right before that – I would say November 2018. I got to my current weight in September 2019.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I have learned is how much can we say that we genuinely LOVE ourselves? Do we love ourselves enough to get up and make the DECISION to chose what’s in our best interest every day? We demand the most from the outside world, but get so lazy with ourselves, and give very minimal energy. Love yourself so much that you chose yourself.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Don’t lose weight; get HEALTHY. If you make it all about weight or the number on the scale, you will forever be in an uphill, sometimes losing battle. Make it all about loving yourself and treating your body like the temple it is.
Feed LIFE to your spirit. Take this approach, and your struggle to stay on track will be significantly reduced. I PROMISE! The things you will attract will begin to be a reflection of that LOVE.
