Transformation of the Day: Ivianna lost 50 pounds. This mom was motivated by her love for her two sons and assisted on this journey by her supportive boyfriend, who is a trainer. She committed to change, and he showed her how to work out and how to change her eating habits to get results.
What was your motivation?
Honestly, I would have to say it was my two sons. I wanted to be sure that I am around for a long time for them to watch to grow up.
What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
The reason why I started in the first place: My children motivating me, and my awesome supportive boyfriend.
How did you change your eating habits?
I have been blessed with an amazing boyfriend, who also happens to be an amazing trainer. He told me what to throw out and stop eating, which included sweets, junk food, pasta, carbonated drinks or juices, bread, any processed food, and fast food. He placed me on a 1600 calorie meal plan to follow, and I was allowed 600 calories per meal or snacks a day. Also, I only drank water. I followed this routine for about seven months straight.
What did your workout routine look like? How often did you workout?
Again, my workouts were designed by my trainer boyfriend:
- 1 mile run
- 10 min row machine (fast)
- Burpees 5 sets of 10
- Squat presses 5 sets of 12
- Hamstring curls 5 sets of 10
- Supermans 5 sets of 20
- Sit-ups 5 sets of 20
- Lat pulldowns 5 sets of 10
- Bicycle 5 sets of 25
- Rows 4 sets of 10
- Crunches 4 sets of 50
- 10 min row machine (fast)
- 1 mile run
I worked out five days a week, Monday – Friday.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
238 pounds was my starting weight. My current weight is 188 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’3″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in May 2019, and it’s been ten months, and I’ve lost 50 pounds. This is actually my life now. So I’m definitely still getting better every day.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No weight loss surgery at all. I did this naturally, and I couldn’t be more proud of myself for doing it either.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
That nothing changes if you don’t become the change you want to see.
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
Commit. If you don’t commit mentally, you’re not going to succeed. That’s precisely what I did. I thankfully have a wonderful boyfriend who specializes in health and training, so he has helped me tremendously to get to where I am today. I couldn’t have done it without him.
