Nene lost 79 pounds with healthy eating habits and exercise. After having twins, this busy mom suffered from postpartum depression, which led to overeating. She grew tired of being short of breath and making excuses. In 2018, she started her self-love journey.
My name is NeNe, and I’m from Los Angeles, CA. I’m a wife, twin mom, and a child care business owner. After having my twins, I suffered from postpartum depression. I was overwhelmed, overeating, and looking for someone to save me. I realized that I needed to dig deep. It was time to get to the root of the problem and understand my repetitive behaviors.
I was tired. Tired of the way I looked, tired of having shortness of breath and tired of making excuses. I set weekly goals for myself and worked my way up. I have lost a total of 65 pounds!
When did you start your weight loss journey?
I started my self-love journey on July 5th, 2018, and have been going ever since.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started with intermittent fasting: My first meal at noon and my last meal before 7 pm. I meal prepped 3 days at a time. I went pescatarian for the first 30 days – No pasta, bread, juice, soda, or fast food.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I took morning walks with my twin boys. I also did cardio, sit-ups, and squats.
How often did you workout?
I worked out three days a week for 30 minutes
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 257 pounds, and my current weight is 178 pounds.

How long did your transformation take?
Nine months.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
You have to be your biggest cheerleader! Set up a system that will encourage you to win.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
You will never feel like eating healthy, and you will never feel like working out. Start today, rather than Monday. Create a positive morning ritual that motivates you! Set short term goals and work your way up.
