Transformation of the Day: Alivia lost 52 pounds. In January 2019, she decided that enough was enough when I came to her health. With her mother by her side, she joined her hometown gym and switched up her eating habits. Now, she’s a fitness instructor at her gym, helping to inspired people to change their lives.
What was your motivation?
I decided to change because I was getting to a point of unhealthiness I had never experienced in my entire life.
When did you start your weight loss journey?
I started my weight loss journey in January 2019. Christmas of 2018, my mom and I decided enough was enough. We began going to a fitness club in our hometown of Bay City, MI. We motivated each other to be better. In a year, we both successfully lost 50 pounds.
How did you change your eating habits?
The hardest part of this journey for me was changing my food habits. I had to realize that food was not in control of me, but the other way around. When I finally got a handle on things, that’s when the motivation really kicked in! I gave up pop and sugary drinks. Water is my savor. If I drink caffeine, it’s in my protein shakes (premier protein or muscle milk) as a meal replacement.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I began a six-week group fitness program at my hometown gym. The classes consist of cardio, weight training, kickboxing, cycling, cardio dance, etc. I started by working out five days a week, and now I’m at 5-7 days.
I become an instructor at our gym in July 2019, along with working a full-time job five days a week. It’s a lot to handle, but there’s just something so amazing about this journey and motivating others that I don’t think I could ever stop. It has become a lifestyle.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My heaviest weight was 260+ pounds, and my lowest weight right now is 208 pounds

I’m 5’3’’
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
I’ve learned to stay consistent. I learned to believe in myself and my abilities, and to keep moving forward! I hope I can push others to become the best versions of themselves.
