Transformation of the Day: Tasha lost 69 pounds by working out and becoming a Keto Pescatarian. Her doctor told her that her A1C was so high that she needed insulin. She asked them to give her three months to allow her to turn her health around, and she did just that.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey on January 1, 2019, and lost 69 pounds in 11 months.
What was your motivation?
In December 2018, I received had a wake-up call from my doctor. They told me that I needed to take insulin because my A1C numbers were extremely high. I requested three months to get my health in order, and now I’m in excellent health. I decided to take care of myself by eating healthy and exercising regularly.
How did you change your eating habits?
Starting in January 2019, I removed meat from my diet and became a pescatarian (a vegetarian who eats fish/seafood). I immediately felt better, I began to lose weight, and my skin started to clear up.
In May 2019, I became a Keto Pescatarian and I saw my body transform. I removed excess carbs and sugar from my diet and focused on eating healthy fish and vegetables. Although my diet was restrictive, it helped me gain discipline when it comes to my eating habits.
What is your workout routine?
I work out three days a week. I attend Spin class, kickboxing class, and weight lifting class. I also run two to three times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 250 pounds, and my current weight is 181 pounds.
What is your height?
My height 5’5″.
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
You have to have a driving force that compels you to do it. What motivates you to want to lose the weight for yourself, not for anyone else? Once you find your inspiration, pick a diet plan that best fits your lifestyle, and that will not hurt your pocket. Also, make sure it’s sustainable for at least two months straight.
If you are new to exercise, start with walking. Then, gradually make your workouts more intense. If you stay consistent and stay encouraged, you can do it.
