Jazzmin lost 63 pounds. This mom wanted to avoid health issues and to be there for her kids for years to come. She made practical changes to transform her life, including going Keto and doing cardio and weight training. Check out her story.
What is your motivation?
My motivation began when I realized I weighed 275 pounds. I wanted to get in shape because I didn’t want to develop health issues, and I wanted to be around for my kids. I would get winded with any exercise, and I knew I couldn’t live that way anymore.
How did you change your eating habits?
I did my research on Keto and knew I had to try it. I went from eating pasta every day to eating veggies with every meal. I began to drink more water and eliminated sugar completely. I also incorporated intermittent fasting 3-4 times a week with Keto. (Fasting 16-20 hours)
What did your workout consist of?
I started working out by just doing cardio. I wasn’t very consistent until recently. I hired a personal trainer a few months ago, and I work out 3-5 days a week doing cardio and weight training.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 275 pounds, and my current weight is 212 pounds.
What is your height?
5’5″
When did you start your journey?
I started in October 2018.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I did not have surgery. Not opposed to it, but I suggest trying to lose naturally first.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
My transformation is still ongoing. My goal is 175 pounds, and I’m getting closer every day!
What advice would you like to share?
I’d say,”Don’t give up.” Gaining weight is a process, and losing it is too. Don’t beat yourself up over a stumble. Know that every victory may not show on the scale. Measure your waist and take pics!
Lastly, live and understand you are human.
