These three ladies, who have shared their transformation stories with us, wrote to us to share that they have created a fitness and wellness brand because they want ot help people transform their lives. Monique lost 100+ pounds. Shaunda lost 70 pounds. Jocerlyn also lost 70 pounds. Check out their update.
People bond for numerous reasons. Partaking in healthy lifestyles and having the dedication to help others do the same is just as good a reason as any. That is the case for the JMS Fit Family. They are three friends who work for the same company. Their friendship, which started during onsite fitness classes at lunchtime and after work, blossomed into so much more.
They all have the willpower, drive, and determination to make life-changing improvements in their own lives. Now, they have come together to bring their insight and dedication to others.
Each of them received inquiries from friends and family about their drastic transformations. “We realized that we would be a ‘Fit Force’ working together because not only did we motivate and push each other – we felt drawn to help others. We have lost almost 200 pounds collectively and have all been featured by Black Women Losing Weight.“

Monique’s success story was featured in July 2015. She discussed the importance of setting an example for her young children and her motivation: to avoid prevent the long history of family illness that her family had unfortunately endured. She makes exercise a family affair. Her daughter often assists in leading the JMotivated Bootcamps. She has lost over 100lbs (update since her 2015 feature). In 2018 she gave birth again and dropped the pounds for a second time. @moe_fit_4_life
Shaunda’s success story was featured in November 2017. She also wanted to be a positive and healthy example for her children. She realized she could not eat the same way she did before children and wanted to get off the Yo-Yo diets and weight fluctuating rollercoaster. She has maintained her 70 pounds weight loss and continues to tone. @ShaunB_Fitness
Jocerlyn’s success story was featured in February 2019. She has always been a friendly people person, but her weight was out of hand due to bad eating habits and lack of exercise. She decided to change her life after seeing herself in a picture from a family function in 2012. She started her journey the next day and never looked back. She is a Certified Group Fitness Instructor and a Licensed Zumba Instructor. She lost 70 pounds to date and is not done yet! @JMotivated
The sky is the limit for these ladies. They all have additional individual and group goals they WILL achieve. All three of them continue to live Healthy Lifestyles – which includes healthy eating habits and regular exercise, including cardio, HIIT, and strength training. They all bring a different perspective to the table and love to research different meal plans and exercises. It doesn’t feel like work since they genuinely enjoy their active lifestyles, and they feed off each other’s enthusiasm and drive.
They are not sure when JMS (first initials of their names) was born as it all started so subtle. As stated before, each person was often asked about their transformation journey and if they would help others achieve their goals. The ladies have sponsored several healthy lifestyle challenges. Their ‘JMS Cut the FAT Challenge‘ is a 6-week challenge started in 2016. Participants pay a fee for a chance to win cash prizes for (1) Greatest Percentage of Weight Loss and (2) Best Transformation. During the challenges, they provide tools for successful and sustainable weight loss, like weekly meal plan options, daily exercise routines, and daily motivation and inspiration.
What advice would you share with someone who is just starting out? Jocerlyn: Don’t worry about how long it takes for you to lose the weight! If you are consistent, the changes will come, and you WILL meet your goals!
What is the most important thing you’ve learned about maintaining
your success?
Jocerlyn: It’s important to monitor and adjust! Sometimes things that worked previously stop working because your body has changed. When that happens, change things up and keep pushing!
What do you like most about helping people change their lives?
Jocerlyn: The look of accomplishment when I push them, and they have completed a task that they were telling themselves they couldn’t!
What advice would you share with someone who is just starting out?
Monique: I would suggest that they find what works for them. There are many ways to lose weight, and not every plan works for everybody. Find the plan that will allow you to be successful in your journey. And find some fit people that are consistent and dedicate to their journey. While some people work well alone, I find that I am most successful when I am the support of my friends. No, they can’t lose the weight for you, but they can hold you accountable for failures and praise you for your successes.
What is the most important thing you’ve learned about maintaining your success?
Monique: That I am not perfect, and that life can come in and change the way you used to do things that were successful before, and it is just is not working now. My pregnancy was a surprise after losing over 100lbs. I got down to my goal weight, and I was the fittest that I have ever been! After having my daughter, I noticed that what I did before her was not working and I was not losing the weight like I was before. I had to revamp my entire lifestyle. You must be able to make the changes required when those changes happen and don’t let it stop you from your goal; whatever that is.
What do you like most about helping people change their lives?
Monique: I love seeing the happiness after they did an exercise that they couldn’t do previously or lifting a weight that they couldn’t lift before. Seeing people grow from being inactive to active is a joy to watch. It is like a baby who is learning to walk for the first time. The smiles on their face knowing they just did something that they never did before and they want to explore and learn more…the feeling is indescribable.
What advice would you share with someone who is just starting out? Shaunda: Do not compare your process or journey to anyone else. Remember why you started and believe in yourself. Be consistent, and the results will come.
What is the most important thing you’ve learned about maintaining your success?
Shaunda: Consistency is Key! Do things that you enjoy. Find ways to make exercising and eating healthy fun and try to involve friends and family.
What do you like most about helping people change their lives?
Shaunda: The fact that I HELPED made a difference that saved or prolonged their lives. I love bringing positivity into all situations.
