Transformation of the Day: Jaye lost 70 pounds. The journey has been tough, but she never gave up. She cut out bread, beef, and foods that cause bloating. Cardio and weight training transformed her body. Check out her story.
I’m incredibly proud of my growth in my professional and spiritual journey. I believe my fitness journey was the deciding factor. While learning how to lose weight, it was frustrating. It was hard to stay motivated at times, but I never gave up. I nurtured my growth. I started to do that in all aspects of my life, and by golly, it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
Myself. I knew I wanted to be better. It was hard, but I knew I had/have a goal, and I want to beat it!
How did you change your eating habits?
I removed bread and beef. The beef because it takes a long time to digest. I eat foods that are not gonna bloat me. I have seafood or turkey and as much fruit, water, and veggies as I can tolerate.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I began with mainly cardio. Once I got to the weight I wanted to be, I was skinny. I didn’t like that, so I added weight training for curve preservation. Now I jump rope and a full body workout session four times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 250 pounds, and I currently weigh 180 pounds.
What is your height?
5’6″
When did you start your journey?
I’m still a work in progress, but I started two… almost 3 years ago. I have been serious for about 2 years.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, never. No shade but I will always be 100% homemade.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
You have to be self-motivated!
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Be patient and love yourself through every stage.
If your friend doesn’t want to go on this journey with you? Oh well! Go anyway. Put those earphones in and go in.
