Update: Shout to Sabrina! She’s released 70 pounds.
Sabrina lost 50 pounds. She learned that you don’t have to try every fad diet or do every crazy workout you see online to get results. Eating less and moving more worked for her. She tracked her calories, tracked her macros and put in work at the gym.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going during the tough times?
My motivation was wanting to live and not just exist. Shopping became very difficult because I knew it would be harder to find my size. I was also harder to interact with people, go places and meet new people because my confidence wasn’t there.
How did you change your eating habits?
I tracked macronutrients (protein, fats, and carbs) at the beginning of my
weight loss journey. I was eating around 1700 calories a day because I had
an active job and I was working five times a week. After losing 50 pounds, hitting a plateau and starting a desk job, I lowered my caloric intake by reducing carbs and cleaning up my diet (no dairy, no sugar and less processed junk)
How often did you workout? What did your workout routine consist of?
Around five times a week for 1.5 hours. My workouts consisted of a lot of strength training early on, but I hit a plateau after about 1.5 years. I now do full body, HIIT style workouts and I’ve started seeing progress again.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 254 pounds, and I currently weigh 204 pounds at 5’9″.
How long did your transformation take?
1.5 years
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Patience, Patience, Patience!
What advice do you have for other people who want to lose weight?
Don’t overcomplicate things. You don’t have to eat according to every fad
diet you come across. You don’t have to do every crazy looking workout you see on social media. Simply eating less and moving more is a good starting point.
