Transformation of the Day: Shaunie lost 81 pounds. She’s been on the Keto diet since July. Self-determination, cutting bread cold turkey and having a great support system have all been vital to her success.
When did you start your journey?
I have been on the Keto diet since July. This has been one of the hardest journeys I have ever been on.
What is your inspiration?
My self-determination, coupled with the support I get from people on Instagram and from my family and friends, has helped me stay strong this long. It’s crazy because now I’m actually starting to look my age, which is 23.
I almost gave up on myself and just let the weight take over me. However, after a month of research and getting myself ready to try another diet, this one is actually working. It is incredible to feel yourself getting healthier. Oh Lordy, the confidence I’ve gained is just AMAZING! I can’t wait to see where I am in a year.
How did you change your eating habits?
I stopped eating ANY bread of any kind, cold turkey! It was hard, but water keeps me full. I really haven’t had a craving for bread since my the first two weeks on Keto. Now, I eat eggs and bacon for breakfast/lunch. I have some meat and veggies for dinner. My meals are pretty simple and filling.
What is your workout routine?
I walk for 30 minutes to an hour every day. I can’t make it to the gym, but walking a few laps around my neighborhood works for me. Going up and down the hills is a killer.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 437 pounds. My current weight is 356.4 pounds! My height is 5’10″. I’m already down 81lbs since July. It was crazy, but also awesome!
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I learned so far is it’s okay I fall down when in this journey but what matters is if you can get back up and keep going or just lay down.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to release the weight?
Don’t compare your success to others’ success. I did that and almost subjected myself to going under the knife for things I can change with diet and exercise.
