Update: Back in 2013, Amanda shared with us how she lost 90 pounds. After her brother was paralyzed due to an accident, she regained 50lbs. By going Keto and embracing intermittent fasting, she has released 35 pounds.
I’ve been following the Black Women Losing Weight website for years and was featured a long time ago when I lost 90 pounds. However, I started gaining the weight back in 2015 after my brother became paralyzed from a motorcycle accident. I began to stress eat, and I barely worked out. I gained 50 pounds back.
I have been working extremely hard this year to release the weight, starting in August 2018. I adopted a Keto lifestyle along with practicing intermittent fasting. I also keep a food journal although I keep my food choices very simple. It helps to write everything down. I only drink water and that is it. Occasionally, I may have some coffee, but water is my friend.
As of November, I’ve lost 35 pounds. I’m so thankful to release the weight.
I realize that eating the right balance of food and working out is a must. For the rest of my life, I
will have to workout and eat balanced meals. I’m happy to report that my blood pressure is normal and my cholesterol levels have gone down.
I feel better mentally and physically. Honestly, I realized this is a mental battle. I have to love and want what’s best for me so that I can live a long prosperous life. I do a great deal of prayer and meditation and write out weekly goals.
I really want to encourage women to never ever give up.
