Transformation of the Day: Stephanie lost 25 pounds. The trials of life, high cholesterol, toxic people, failures and disappointment did not stop her. She was determined to be the best version of herself and to be a role model for her daughters. Using an at-home workout program helped her to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Today, I realized how blessed I truly am. I had a humbling experience when I compared my before and after photos. Sometimes I just want to forget the old me, but I remembered a conversation that I had with a dear friend, and he reminded me that it’s not the good experiences that shape us into who we are today. It’s the adversities that we’ve overcome that mold us into being better every day moving forward.
The woman in my before photo was lost at 162 pounds. She endured a life of struggles, pain, hurt, disappointments and failures. She had toxic people in her life and spent her entire life taking care of everyone else but herself. I was also motivated hearing from my doctor that my cholesterol was too high. (My heaviest weight was 163 pounds at 5ft, 4 inches tall.)
In Feb 2018, I finally had enough. I started this transformation to change my life. I was determined to be the best version of myself and to be a role model for my daughters.
I immediately removed fried food and sweets from my diet. Increased my water intake as well. I’ve learned how to eat the right types of food in the correct portion sizes.
I found a trainer and literally drove over 2 hours round trip to meet him at his gym 2-3 times a week to start exercising again. Once I had my fitness back on track, I knew I had to fix my nutrition seriously. I began a home-based Beachbody program that helped me with figuring out my nutrition and what to eat. I also joined an online Beachbody fitness group which helped me with accountability and eating healthy. Home workouts were really convenient! I worked out 3-4 days a week doing weight training and HIIT. Now, I’m in the gym pushing heavy weight.
The woman on the left is who I am today. I’m so proud at 138 pounds. I am confident happy, healthy, motivated, ambitious, grateful, and excited about life. Self-care and self-love are essential. I’m on to my next goal of gaining more lean muscle mass.
Sharing my pictures and my journey is not about being vain or wanting likes and acceptance on social media. It’s about loving and embracing who I’ve become, and hopefully inspiring others to be their very best!
My advice for people who want to lose weight is to take it one day at a time. Trust the process, be consistent, and don’t quit. Develop a lifestyle change, not a quick diet, to lose weight.
Now, I’m an Online Coach helping other people reach their health and fitness goals! I can relate to the failure and success of weight loss and healthy eating. It’s not an easy process, but if you work hard, stay committed, believe in yourself, and remove “Can’t” from your vocabulary, you WILL succeed.
