Update: Marisa has brought her weight loss total to 74 pounds!
Transformation of the Day: Marisa lost 55 pounds. After going through a dark time in her life, she decided to change how she felt about herself. That also meant changing her lifestyle by going Pescatarian and working out. Check out her story.
I remember going through a very dark time at the end of 2017. I needed away out of how I was feeling about myself and my current situation. I tried losing weight many times in the past. However, this time was different for me.
How did you change your eating habits?
On December 28, 2017, I decided to clean up my diet. So, I converted to Pescatarian [a vegetarian who eats seafood]. I only consumed water in terms of what I drank. I ate more of the good stuff, like vegatables and fruit.
What was your workout routine?
With the new year approaching, I not only changed my eating habits, but I also started going to the gym. I workout at least 5 days a week for an hour and a half.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 281 pounds, and now I weigh 226 pounds. I’m not done yet. My goal is to be at 165 pounds. Now, I’m in a better place in my life. I’m happy with my results, but im NOT content. My journey is not over, because this is now a lifestyle.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I learned was how to keep going without comparing or looking at other people’s bodies or weight loss stories. I knew my results were going to show up, and I want them to continue to show up.
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
Take it day by day. Each day is new and today is a set up for tomorrow, so make it count.
