What is your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
I am a 35 year old mom of six. My motivation was my children. I wanted to show them that you can do anything you put your mind to. They watched me change my eating habits and exercise daily. My biggest supporters are my husband and kids.
How did you change your eating habits?
I stopped drinking soda, eating sweets and junk food. One of my favorite things to eat is grilled chicken salad, or anything thats grilled or baked. I take apple cider vinegar 3 times a day before each meal.
How often did you workout?
I exercise 2 times a day.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I’m 5’2″ and started at 182 pounds. I currently weigh 152 pounds. My husband and kids are so proud of me and I love the fact that I have a good excuse to go shopping for new clothes now. I went from a size XL to a medium.
If I can do this, anybody can. Being a mom of 6 who has had 6 C-sections, I didn’t think I could but I did, and I’m going to continue.
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey in April of 2018 and I’m still pushing. My journey is not over yet.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Yes, the biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency is the key to losing weight. Be consistent with exercising and eating right… and the weight will come off.
What advice do you have for other women who want to lose weight?
The advice I have is take baby steps when you begin your weight loss journey, if you’ve never exercised, start off by walking half a mile. When you are comfortable walking more, do so.
Also, instead of quitting unhealthy eating habits cold turkey, eat some of the foods you love. Just cut back and eventually you will eat healthier options. Your journey will begin with a single step and once you start seeing progress that will motivate you to do more.
