My transformation took a little over a year. After I had my second child, I went into a depression that lasted for a year. During that time, I gained weight and kept making excuses about why I couldn’t work out or eat right.
One night, after looking in the mirror and crying about my body, it clicked. I had to make a change. It was 10pm. That night, I went to Walmart and bought the smallest bikini I could fit (which is the black one in the first picture)
After the first three months of working hard, it gets al ot easier. After 6 months, the healthy way I was eating was no longer a diet. It was an actual lifestyle change. I eat clean and limit foods that have added sugar and salt. I also limit sodas, juice and fast food. The things I gave up were well worth it because now I have the body I wanted. What I learned is you can’t have both.
However, I do splurge every now and again. Eating healthier does not mean depriving yourself. When I eat, I’m still satisfied and the food is delicious. There is a healthier alternative for everything!
I lift weights 6 days a week and do an hour of cardio a day. Working out and hitting small goals works for me. Being active gave me more energy with my kids and I was able to do a lot more. My mental health has also improved.
I did all this naturally. I did not have to buy any special weight loss tea or pills.
My advice: Start now! Ignore your fears and your doubts about this journey and start. You are the only one in your way. I realized that I was the one standing in my own way.
Change does not happen overnight. Everyday you make an effort is a day closer to your goal. It’s supposed to be uncomfortable. It’s supposed to be hard. If it was easy, everyone would do it. Don’t give up! “Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.”
