Update Sept 2018: Karla is still going strong and maintaining her success. She recently posted a YouTube video about how she lost the weight.
Tranformation of the Day: Karla lost 36 pounds. This emotional eater felt like she had no self control when it came to food, but she had a wedding to get ready for so there was no room for giving up. She worked with a trainer, cleaned up her eating habits and put her all into working out. Check out her story.
I’m not going to lie… it was not easy. I was an emotional eater who loved late night snacking. I had absolutely NO self control or discipline when it came to food. I was also sooooo insecure about my weight (I still am, but not as much.) and I absolutely hated working out.
I wanted to get fit for my wedding. I lost 10 pounds on my own, but decided that I needed a personal trainer to help hold me accountable and keep me on track. I found Stephy Spinoso and started working with her and using her meal plan. I wanted to prove that I could do it not only to myself but to her to show her that I was serious and not wasting her time. We started with face to face workouts, and then I did her online program in my apartment gym.
My body is in no way perfect now and I still have more muscle building and toning I want to do. However, this was a huge step in the right direction.
How did you change your eating habits?
I went cold turkey and elimated most processed foods. I had some bad days, but I had more good days then bad. I just bounced back from my bad days and worked harder the next day. I mainly ate healthy fats, protein and veggies (low carb). I love Turkey bacon, avocado, peas, carrots and green beans.
What did your workout routine look like?
I worked out 6-7 days a week. HIIT everyday and strength training every day.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 164 pounds. I am 5’3 and I hold most of my weight in my upper body. It took me 3 months of being consistent, sticking to Stephy’s meal plans and doing her very tough workouts to get to 128 pounds. Once I felt like I knew the proper form and technique, I began using her online plan.
When did you start your journey?
October 2017
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Always do a challenge or some sort of physical competition to keep you motivated throughout the year.
What advice do you have for other women who want to lose weight?
If I can do it, you can do it. Stay consistent and hold yourself accountable. Not everyday will be a great workout/meal plan day. Just make sure you bounce back from those bad days and never give up!
