Transformation of the Day: Ryan lost 67 pounds. This mom of three struggled with weight gain over the years. Eventually, she realized that she had to take care of herself so that she could be there for the ones she loves. Going low carb and walking was the perfect combination. Check out how she did it.
My name is Ryan and here is my story. I’ve struggled with my weight all of my life, so I’m not naturally thin. I gained 58 pounds during my first pregnancy, 48 pounds with my 2nd and 70 pounds with my 3rd. After having my last child, I gave up after struggling to get under 200lbs. Having that weight on me was no joke and I started to get depressed. After while, being that size just wasn’t cutting it for me.
I started detoxing, eating low carb meals and working out 5 days a week for 20 minutes. Eventually, I started adding fasting into my diet and began working out 30 minutes a day.
Whenever my progress I came to a stall, I would do an egg fast (eating eggs 3x times a day for 3 days straight). I detox maybe 3 to 4 times a year by just eating fruit, veggies, nuts and drinking water. Since I mostly eat low carb meals, my meals consist of lean meats and veggies with lots of water. I try to eat between 20 and 30 grams of carbs each day, but I usually aim for 20g per day.
When I started this journey, I was walking at 2.3-2.5 miles per hour on my treadmill, 5 to 6 times a week for 20 to 30 minutes a day. Now, I walk at 3.0 to 3.1 mph for 40 minutes to an hour, 5 to 6 times a week.
I’ve gone from a 35 inch waist to 29 inch waist. I’ve gone from 232 pounds to 165/166 pounds at 5’5″. It took me a little over a year and 9 months to lose the weight, but I did not give up.
I’ve learned that I can’t give up on myself just because I’m a wife and a mother of 3. I realized that I have to take care of myself so I can continue take care of them.
My advice to women is to never give up on you. If you want to lose the weight, do the work. It’s hard, but the confidence you gain is worth it.
