Transformation of the Day: Sharresa lost 66 pounds. At 46 years old, she’s a proud mom and grandmom who never gave up on her weight release goals. She has been working since 2011 to get healthy and fit. Check out how she took action.
I first started my weight loss journey in November 2011 weighing between 196.5 pounds – 202.5 pounds. The journey truly wasn’t easy at all. I started by counting calories, walking and working out to Jillian Michaels videos. I cut out junk food and fast food. I drank plenty of water and baked, broiled or grilled all my food.
Within a year of first starting my journey, I lost more than 65 pounds. I was super excited because I didn’t think I could ever do it. Through determination, hard work, and by staying focused, I did it.
Now, as I stated earlier, this weight loss journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve had several hiccups when it came to gaining and losing weight.
Within the next few years my weight went from 131 pounds back up to 176.2 pounds. I figured out that when I stress I become an emotional eater, which is not good at all. I would go on diets and start doing better, but often I would fall off course. I realize on this journey that food can either be your best friend or your worse enemy.
In December 2014, I saw a picture of me and I was truly disgusted. Decided that this time, I was going to lose this extra 40 pounds and not gain it back. I started walking everyday at work for 1-2 miles. Next, I joined Planet Fitness. I started working with a trainer and going to the gym 3-4 times a week for 45 minutes. Now, I’m being held accountable for what I was or wasn’t doing.
Also, I was given a Fitbit for my birthday and the weekly challenges made me push everyday to surpass my daily step goal of 10k.
We all know that truly changing our eating habits has such a awesome effect on our lives. I drank nothing but water or 100% cranberry juice. I started juicing and doing 30 days of smoothies. I also cut out all process foods. By making all of these changes, I truly started to see the weight fall off. However, I knew that this time I had to do more to make sure that the weight stayed off. Now, I only eat chicken, turkey and dark green vegetables and water. No pasta, bread, junk food, fast food, soda etc.
The weight started falling more and more. With 8 months of consistency, I had lost over 30 pounds. A huge goal was met. In February 2016, I heard of iLipo Laser and I tried it. In 4 weeks, I lost more than 15 inches all over my midsection, thighs and hips.
So, I was truly seeing a huge difference in my appearance and my energy level was increasing more and more. I begin to climb Stone Mountain, and each time I went up I was able to beat my previous time. I knew I was truly on the track to preserving my life.
As of end of December 2015 to now (October 2017), I’ve been able to keep the weight off. My goal was to weigh 147 pounds, but I have surpassed that. I currently weigh 136.1 pounds. I’m about the same size I was in high school. I’m also a proud mother of 3 children (23, 21, and 17 years old) and 1 beautiful granddaughter. People can’t believe I’m 46 years old and absolutely Fabulous!
During this weight lost journey, my heaviest weight was 202.5, so I’ve lost a total of 66.4 pounds. That’s a huge accomplishment and I have no desire to gain any of that weight back.
It was not easy, but in the end the journey is truly worth it. We all may fall and that’s ok as long as we don’t stay down. Thank for reading my weight lost journey and good luck to you all.
