Update: We’ve been following Chanel‘s progress since we featured her story back in January 2016. She’s lost more than 100 pounds with healthy eating habits and brisk walking. On August 17th, you can check out how she was helped by the plastic surgeons on the TV show Botched.
I just wanted to give you all an update of my journey. On 08/26/2017, I will celebrate the 3 year anniversary of my brisk walking journey. I’ve now lost 100+ pounds naturally. I’m no longer on high blood pressure medicine and I’m much happier. My next goal is to get toned by lifting weights. I also want to do 5K & 10K races all over the place and finish my memoir The BriskWalkLady.
At the beginning of this year, I was blessed to finally get my botched plastic surgery fixed with the help of the TV show Botched on E! Entertainment Television. Last month, I did press for the episode that I am a part of with Extra Tv and The Today Show via Facebook Live. The episode I’m on will air on August 17th. On the show, I speak in detail about my weight loss, my depression journey and you’ll see my surgery.
I wanted to emphasize to everyone that IF you are dealing with anything that is affecting your mental health GET HELP. There is no shame in bettering yourself. Anyone who is receiving government assistance who needs help should ask their county worker about the therapy/psychiatry programs that may be available. When I was on welfare and at my lowest, I was able to get FREE group therapy, see a psychiatrist and receive medication. Those programs helped me change my life for the better.

My name is T and I am now on a weight loss and healthy living journey. I’m doing it on my own and have heard so many different story about, what I’m doing wrong. One person told me ” your not going to see results until I start on herbal life. I’m lifting weight, cardio, swimming. Did u use any type of weight loss products? I just can’t afford herbal life.

Hi T. No I did not use any weight loss products. I just walked and eventually changed my diet. I believe a lot of my weight was from depression/stress/unhealthy diet. Seeing a psychiatrist & therapist Really helped me.
Set aside at least 30 min a day for #MeTime for yourself & do something physical & eventually You will see a difference. Also change your diet. Start slow like drink water instead of sodas/juice. You do not have to purchase anything for your weight-loss journey to be successful just have to make time for YOURSELF. #YouGotThis 👣❤
