Transformation of the Day: Danielle lost 30 pounds. She started her journey in April 2017 and decided that this would be the last time she tried to release the weight for good. Working hard in the gym, eating a clean diet and remaining focused has paid off big for her. Check out her story.
What was your motivation?
My motivation is self. This is not my first attempt to lose weight but it will be my last! This time I’m not giving up on myself and I’m not starting over. What keeps me pushing on days that I want to give up is looking at pictures of myself, when I was smaller and bigger. In the past, I lost the weight for looks. This time, I decided to change my whole lifestyle and my outlook on how approach reaching my goals.
How did you change your eating habits?
I threw away all the unhealthy foods in my home and stocked up on healthier options of the foods that I love to eat. I stopped eating fast food throughout the week. Sometimes, I have Chinese food as my cheat meal, because I simply love chicken wings and lo mein. The first few weeks of my lifestyle change, I jumped right into eating 5-6 small meals a day because that method worked for me in the past. However, while doing some research I discovered intermittent fasting and quickly fell in love with that eating pattern.
What did your workout routines look like?
I worked out 4 days a week. I currently take Zumba classes 3 days a week. I learned how to lift weights by watching the Gym Buffs, and surprisingly by just searching different body part workouts on Instagram.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 231.5 pounds and today I weigh 201 pounds. My height is 5’6″. I have never been under 197 pounds in my adult life. When I started this journey, that was honestly my first goal. Now that I’m only 4 pounds away from that weight, it’s time I set some new goals to keep pushing and challenging myself. I know that I can achieve the success I’m looking for with hard work, a clean diet and by remaining focused.
When did you start your journey?
I started my weight loss journey on April 16, 2017. I decided that this would be my last attempt at losing weight. Now, I’ve created a new lifestyle and I dont plan on gaining the weight back. I actually completed my first e-book today on how to survive your first three months on the journey. In this book, I recount all the steps and measures I took to get the results I’ve achieved so far. I also started a YouTube channel, JuicyFlaws, to help push myself and to document my journey. This isnt the end of the road for me. My goal is be in the best shape of my life.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Stay focused and don’t compare your success to others. You must own your journey. Be sure to celebrate the small victories, take lots of pictures of yourself and don’t obsess over the scale.
